We’re still recovering from our open day on Sunday – about 1,000 people visited the farm. Wow-o!
So, now the restaurant’s been christened with lots of muddy boots traipsing in for a look, we’d better start using it – and we’ve got something really special for you.
Do you want to come to our first degustation lunch on November 9?
We’ve got a rather classy chef cooking for you - Ashley Davis from Melbourne’s Pure South restaurant. Ashley’s come back to Australia after being the head chef at London’s Helene Darroze – a restaurant he took from one Michelin star to two. He’s a level-headed operator who always does great things with our meat.
Pure South in Southbank has a Tasmanian-only menu. I’m constantly amazed at their dedication to this – it can be really hard getting small quantities of top-quality food across Bass Strait. We’ve been on their menu for a few years, and we love their style. They treat their farmers with respect, and tell our stories with real affection.
The menu for November 9 is looking great – I’m not going to reveal it – but funnily enough there is some pork on it, plus a bit of seafood, and wines from Barringwood Park Vineyard.
It’s going to be a lovely afternoon in our dining room, and we’re so looking forward to getting out the new plates and wine glasses for you. We can't quite believe we've got such an experienced chef coming to cook in our kitchen - it's a very exciting beginning.
If you’d like to make a booking – and I think it’s going to be pretty popular – the details are below:

P.S. We're still looking for a winner for our open day door prize - Jess Outram won the adult section, but which child's got the ticket Blue 14D?
