It's finally time to order your Christmas ham and meat!
For the past few weeks our customers have been feverishly ringing and emailing, 'Can we order yet? Can we order yet?'. Well, now you can!. I always take a deep breath before we open the orders, I've actually been falling asleep counting pigs and legs, preparing for the game of matching legs to orders. People say its hard to count sheep well you should try counting pigs in a free range environment, its not something that you do to try and fall asleep.
Although this time of year is ridiculously busy and stressful it is also really exciting and humbling to know that so many people will be sharing amongst family and friends something that has been produced at the farm. I grew up with our own free range pigs and one of my favourite christmas memories was waking up and slicing some of our own ham onto some fresh bread. It was so delicious and unique, so its great to know that others now share that experience.
This year we're offering our usual range of delicious bone-in and boneless leg hams, pork roasts, charcuterie selections, and beef bbq packs. If you love a glazed ham, we can make you a specially prepared ham for you to cook again at home - just mention it in the special request section of the order form. You can choose to pick up your order at the farm, or at a farmers' market in Launceston or Hobart. It's the same process as last year.
For the first time this year we will also be offering some Lost Pippin Cider, which is made by Guy's younger brother Mark in the Coal River Valley. This offer is only for North West Coast customers. Its a glimpse of the future as next year we hope to pick our first real crop of cider apples from the farm.
I urge you to order your Christmas meat promptly, because we have a limited number of pigs out in the paddock, and first in best fed!
Don't stress if you haven't heard from us straight away when you have placed your order.
We will be in contact shortly.
