It’s time to order your free range Christmas ham and pork treats. Don’t leave it to the last minute as we only produce ham from our rare breed free range pigs, so supply is always limited to what we grow in our paddocks. This year we’ve saved our hams to release for Christmas. Our hams have such a loyal following and we’re aware that over the past 15 years it’s become a Tasmanian Christmas tradition to showcase and share a Mount Gnomon Farm ham with guests and family.
Our Christmas products
While the farm has undergone recently a lot of change and development the one thing that has remained the same has been our ham. It’s still made from our beautiful rare breed free range pigs.
We’re offering our usual range of delicious bone-in and boneless leg hams they are smoked with oak and are suitable for either eating fresh or glazing. This year we’ve also added one of our favourite products our shoulder hams which are perfect for glazing. We will also have pork roasts, barbecue packs which include some of our famous small goods, along with sausage for boxing day barbecues.
Due to popular demand we will again be offering porchetta roast. We prepare this classic Italian roast by rolling one of our rare breed pork loins with spices and fresh herbs from the garden.
Pick up dates and locations
North West Coast
The farm will be the pick up location for our north west coast customers. You have the option of picking up your order at a twilight Christmas market where we will combine with other local artisans on Friday the 22nd running from 4- 9. The bar will be open, we will have live music and there will be a variety of both fresh produce, food and craft stalls. If you wish to avoid the crowds we will also have a farm pick up over the weekend of the 23rd and 24th. Alternatively if you are going away for Christmas or can’t make these dates there is alternative pick up time option.
Choose a pick up location at Harvest Launceston on either the Saturday 16th or 23th of December.
Pick ups will be at Farm Gate Market on Sunday the 17th early pick up and Christmas Eve, Sunday the 24th of December.
King Island and Melbourne
Like previous years we will be sending our produce to both King Island and Melbourne, pick up in Melbourne will again be at the SRT depot in Laverton. Orders will be ready to be picked up from Wednesday the 2oth of December.
